The City of Prince George is beginning the early work of a new $9.5 million project that will enhance the reliability of the city’s water system in the Hart.
Construction of a new 3.6km water main will begin this month and it will provide redundancy for the existing water main installed over 40 years ago.
It will start north of the Foothills Boulevard and North Nechako intersection.
The new water main will start from a pump station just north of the Foothills Blvd. and North Nechako intersection and proceed to the Vellencher Reservoir at the top of the hill.
There will also be a replacement of a water pump station just south of Vellencher Road, at the terminus of the new water main.
