While dry, hot and windy conditions are are cause for concern in the Cariboo Fire Centre, the Prince George Fire Centre has seen enough precipitation that the fire threat is not as high.
The danger rating in the PG Fire Centre is mostly ‘moderate’. However, there are still pockets of ‘high’ in the Vanderhoof and Robson Valley areas.
Information Officer for the BC Wildfire Service, Amanda Reynolds, says we are expecting another warm and dry weekend, but there should be 3- 5 mm of precipitation Saturday night.
“All the fires in the Prince George area are away from causing any concern to community members,” says Reynolds. “They are all under control and 100% contained.”
Since April 1st, the Prince George Fire Centre has responded to 159 wildfires.
