Members of School District 57 and the Lheidli T’enneh have signed a local education Agreement.
The agreement formalizes the relationship to deliver education to students who live on reserve. That affects about 40 students who live on the Lheidli T’enneh’s Shelley reserve.
“Lheidli T’enneh see this as a commitment to First Nations student achievement, strong literacy and numeracy, high graduation rates and a supportive educational environment which values Lheidli T’enneh language and culture,” said Chief Dominic Frederick.
The agreement will be in place for five years.
