Local area MLA’s Shirley Bond and Mike Morris will be tasked with critiquing the new NDP-Green alliance provincial government as they were both named to the shadow cabinet.
Mike Morris will be in charge of a portfolio he knows well, as he served as Minister for Public Safety and Solicitor General.
Morris will now be the critic for that portfolio.
Meantime, Shirley Bond moves to become the Finance Critic with rookie MLA Tracy Readies, as they will share those duties.
“As a 16-year cabinet minister, I know how important it is to respect the taxpayer of British Columbia.” said Bond.
“I will fight every day to ensure the people of Prince George, and B.C. know their hard-earned money is not being wasted.”
Morris believes the new government will have a tough job keeping up to the criticism of the Liberals.
“I’m ready to see what this new mouse trap looks like.”
The legislature is expected to return sometime in the fall.
