The BCNE Fall Fair is set to get underway next week, but evacuated livestock are still being housed at the Agriplex and on the rodeo grounds. 103 horses, 4 goats, turkeys, chickens, 55 cows and 52 sheep remain.
The number of evacuated animals is slowly going down, and the Site Coordinator for the livestock, Chelsea Wallach, says there is still plenty of room for the 4-H animals and livestock that will be in the rodeo.
BCNE organizers have provided pens. The BCNE Fall Fair will go ahead from the 17th to the 20th with no changes.
“They will remain on site,” says Wallach. “We are trying to do some shuffling now and preparations as well because they [BCNE organizers] have graciously donated with a bunch of panels and pens for the big and small critters. So we are trying to rearrange a little bit and shuffle around so the 4-H has room, the big draft horses have theirs, the campers that are coming have theirs. But everything will be here and happy still.”
