Renovations to Masich Place stadium have fallen behind.
As work crews laid down new turf this week, civic officials announced the $4.4 million project was two to three weeks behind schedule. The delay was created by a later that planned start. “We were two weeks right off the start because we didn’t get started when we wanted to,” said project manager Al Clark.
The city says another week was lost when construction crews discovered some unsuitable material in the earth that required additional excavation work.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of September however the city doesn’t expect to reopen the facility until next spring.
