Anthony Everett is best known for his work with the 2015 Prince George Canada Winter Games. He’s taken on a new role as an organizer, for the city first Myeloma March. It’s a fundraiser to help bring awareness to a blood cancer he was diagnosed with a few years ago.
Anthony and his wife have a three year old child. Already busy people. The March has become another task they’ve taken on in their busy lives. In the last few months they’ve worked on bringing awareness to a disease that’s affected their lives.
The first Prince George Multiple Myeloma March is planned for the trail system at the Otway Nordic Centre. A place his family enjoys.
According to Myeloma Canada, every day 7 Canadians are diagnosed with the disease. Despite that growing number, myeloma remains relatively unknown. This year’s fundraising goal is 20 thousand dollars and the money raised goes to research and helping those living with the illness.
Everett encourages residents to join him and his family on the trail September 9th at 9:30 for the March and to donate online at myeloma.ca
