If you are flying out of the Prince George Airport this fall or winter, you’ll notice a few temporary changes.
Construction of the elevator project is about to get underway. Both sets of staircases connecting the long term parking lot with the main terminal will be upgraded. The elevator will be housed in a vestibule, and a new set of stairs will be put in near the Arrivals Doors.
In the meantime, two sets of temporary stairs are being constructed. Parking spots in both the short and long term lots will be changed, with accessible parking re-assigned to the closest, safest spots.
The $3 million project is expected to be complete by early spring.
