The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive is being held this weekend. On Saturday, September 9th, volunteers will be diligently collecting donations. Brown paper bags will be dropped off at households across the city, and residents are encouraged to donate what they can. The local Salvation Army serves over 1,000 families each month.
While donations poured in for evacuees this summer, those items are being held specifically for evacuees who are still being displaced by wildfires. Organizers are hoping to collect 20,000 lbs of food this year to help restock the shelves right into Christmas.
