Grade 3 and 10 students at Cedars Christian school are working together to create giant pots of soup to feed the needy through the St Vincent de Paul. Vegetables included have been grown in the school garden – and were harvested specially for today. Grade 3 teacher Heather Fisher says she wants the students to be connected to nature, and growing and seasons and patterns and where food comes from and what healthy food looks like. She says the cooking lesson also includes the importance of working together and sharing it with the rest of the community. This is the fourth year Cedars students have prepared and donated soup to the less fortunate.
