The Carrier Sekani Tribal Council says more needs to be done when it comes to keeping salmon returning.
They want immediate action to sustain the Fraser River Salmon.
The council says estimates for the sockeye salmon return did not come close to what the reality of the return was this year.
The Fisheries Manager says in the Chilako river that flows into the Nechako. Only four were counted, one of which was dead.
They blame the low numbers on the increased human activity such as industry and agriculture.
