According to Statistics Canada’s latest census figures, Prince George is faring well when it comes to average incomes, compared to the provincial and national averages. Here’s how things stack up:
Average Household Incomes:
“In Prince George, we have very successful manufacturing and construction sectors,” says Melissa Barcellos, the Economic Development Officer fort the City. “And those trades like positions to do, typically, earn higher salaries.”
However, she says the average incomes in places like Metro Vancouver are also well above the provincial and national average, leading her to speculate the incomes in small-town BC are not faring as well as are pulling the provincial average down.
