It’s that time of year; summer and all season tires are being swapped with winter tires.
Dan Mouldey, Assistant Manager of the Kal Tire on Central, says they are booking appointments into mid November.
BC is one of only 3 provinces that define a winter tire and where their use is required.
As of October 1st, winter tires are mandatory on many rural roads, highways and mountain passes, but Mouldey says now is also good time to put them on for city driving.
As people go to switch out their tires, Road Safety & Community Coordinator for ICBC, Doug Mac Donald, says it’s also good time to get your belts, brakes and fluids checked to make sure your vehicle is in good condition for the first snowfall.
