    Prince George Cougars-first pre-season game is this Saturday in St. Albert, Alberta, when they square off with the Medicine Hat Tigers & the Swift Current Broncos. The Cougars will host the Edmonton Oil Kings for back-to-back pre-season games on Friday Sept. 10th & Sat. Sept. 11th at CN Centre. The Kamloops Blazers will visit Prince George for the Cougars final pre-season game on Sat.Sept.18th. All exhibition games start at 7:00 pm. Prince George Cougars season tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.

    Prince George Spruce Kings- Faceoff Fever returns to the Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek featuring a pair of games for the Spruce Kings starting with a 3:00pm matinee affair against the Grande Prairie Storm on Friday and then a meeting with the first year Dawson Creek Rage of the NAHL Saturday at 7pm. The Rage will then head to Prince George for the final Spruce Kings preseason game Tuesday at 7pm in the Prince George Coliseum.Ticket information including season tickets, flex-game punch cards and single game tickets are available online or by calling the Spruce Kings office at 564-1747.

    Friday-Sunday-Cariboo Midget Cougars training camp at the C.N.Center.Cougars will have a practice next Tuesday evening September 7th, then the team will travel to Kelowna/Penticton Thursday to Sunday for exhibition games. After the exhibition weekend, final releases will be made and the team begins its regular full time schedule.The schedule for the 2010/2011 Season has been finalized and released by BC Hockey. The Cougars begin their pursuit of the league championship on September 18th at 9:15am against the NW Giants, as a part of the first showcase weekend down at UBC Thunderbird Arena. The first homes dates will be a week later on September 25/26 against the Fraser Valley Bruins. With a couple of exceptions, home games will start at 6:00pm on Saturdays and 10:30am on Sundays.

    September 10th-12th-Adventure Camp which the PG Deaf Children’s Society is hosting at Ness Lake Bible Camp in Prince George. There will be such activities as Wall-Climbing/Archery, Team-Building Activities, Frisbee, Crafts, Scavenger Hunt, Sign Language Games , Campfire and ASL stories. In addition to social and fun activities, there will be an educational component including sign language skills and a speaker presentation for parents. Prince George is 1 of 11 communities in B.C. to raise funds through the super walk. Super walk is the largest and most important fundraising event of the year for Parkinson Society Canada. Parkinson's is the second most common chronic neurological disorder after Alzheimer's. In B.C. there are 11,000 individuals suffering with Parkinson's. Parkinson Society of B.C. receives no goverment funding and relies entirely on the generosity of individual donors, members, corporations, foundations and the dedicated efforts of volunteers.

    Thursday September 16th - Habitat For Humanity's 3rd Annual Bathtub Race at Bartle & Gibson,1027A Eastern St.Cost is $50.00 plus a silent auction item to enter a tub in the race.Entries are limited to 16 teams. This year's goal is to raise $5,000.00 for Habitat Prince George.Volunteers are also needed to flip burgers,sweep the track and provide mechanical assistance for the tubs,among other things. cheques can be made out to H.F.H.
