Just weeks after the resignation of the head of the BC Arts Council, Jane Danzo, the province is handing over what it calls an extra seven million dollars in funding. But officials with Theatre North West in Prince George say it's dollars that have already been announced. Back in March the government announced 10 million in funding for arts through the 2010 Sports and Arts Legacy program. It then implemented 3 million of that budget and Theatre North West officials say this is the remaining 7 million. All of this comes after the budget for the BC Arts Council was cut by 52 percent and the gaming grants were removed in the last year.
