Prince George RCMP have an elderly bank robbery suspect in custody. Constable Lesley Smith says police were called to the CIBC branch at Spruceland at about 11:10 this morning. Police were told an elderly man entered the bank and demanded money from a clerk. After a description was given to officers, a suspect was taken into custody nearby. Police arrested a 75-year-old man who is known to them. He's being held for court on robbery charges. Smith says the bandit advised a clerk he had a weapon, but no weapon was found during the arrest. The Scotiabank at Spruceland was robbed by an elderly man with a walker on August 13th. Constable Smith says police believe there is a connection between that robber and this suspect, but they can't release this man's name because an information has not been sworn.
