Trucks moving large amounts of hazerdous material, will soon likely have  restrictions on which routes they can use travelling through the city.Last night, City Council approved the first three readings of the transportation of dangerous good bylaw. The next step is get the bylaw endorsed by the Ministry of Transportation. Once that's complete, it can then be returned to council for a fourth reading and adoption. If all goes according to plan, the bylaw would come into effect September 1st this year. Transporters who violate the restricted routes could face fines of to 10-thousand dollars.
