A major transmission line through northwestern B-C was on the agenda today as the Prime Minister held an hour-long meeting with U-S President Barack Obama. Stephen Harper emerged from the meeting to announce up to 130-(m)-million dollars for construction of the line along the Highway 37 corridor. The much talked about Northwest Transmission Line is expected to open up the area to mining and other development. The $404-million line will extend the provincial power grid north along Highway 27, bring green energy to areas that currently rely on diesel generators.
