The question on many people's lips at last night's meeting was why there has been no action taken to address abnormally high levels of formaldehyde in the Millar Addition. It's been a year and seven months since the Ministry became aware of the high levels. Ministry representatives have now assured the public that the testing equipment is on en route, with re-testing scheduled in about three weeks. But they also say they will be more efficient in reporting air quality issues of all kinds to the public. Retired doctor Laurie Cook feels its all lip service. He feels that until some agency, whether its the local Ministry of the Environment, is given teeth, nothing will change. About 250 people turned out for the meeting.
