The unemployment rate was down about a little more than half a point last month, falling to 12.3 %. While its down over the month, its up almost 5 percentage points from a year ago. Labour Market Analyst Jeannine Usalcas says the number of people employed last month was about the same as February 2009. She says that because people are settling for part time jobs to remain in the workforce. The Cariboo region is seeing similar numbers while the provincial rate fell four-tenths of a point and the national rate was trimmed by a tenth of a point.
