A 36-year-old Alberta man remains in custody in Lloydminster in connection with Wednesday's homicide off the Blackwater Road. The man was arrested at a residence in the Paradise Valley in northeastern Alberta yesterday morning. Alberta RCMP Media Relations Officer Wayne Oakes says the takedown by an Emergency Response Team followed a lengthy standoff that began late Wednesday afternoon. Oakes says the suspect is known to police, but won't say how. The arrest came one day after a 47-year-old Prince George man was found dead on a farm 63 kilometres southwest of the city. A 47-year-old woman was also injured and is recovering in hospital. Investigators have not released the names of the victims or indicated what the circumstances behind the attack are.
