RCMP say drivers in the Prince George area made some good choices New Year's Eve. Police didn't lay any impaired driving charges through the counter-attack program Wednesday night. However there were ten drivers who did receive 24 hour suspensions. RCMP say the results are encouraging considering the higher than expected numbers seen earlier in the counter attack program. Operation Red Nose was a roaring success this new years' eve as well. Vice Chair Ken Pendergast says Wednesday night, the service provided 123 rides, and a total of 507 rides for the entire holiday season. This represents a more than 30 percent increase from the previous year. Pendergast says the operation raised over 30-thousand dollars from donations and sponsors. 146 volunteers utilized 86 donated vehicles to safely transpot about 15-hundred clients home safely this holiday season.
