The Spruce Kings moved into third place in the Interior Conference after slipping by Salmon Arm 4-3. Jujhar Khaira paced the offence with a goal and three assists. The victory gave the Kings 52 points. One better than Chilliwack who lost 5-1 to Penticton. The Vees tied a BCHL record with their 29th consecutive win. The Kings will look to sweep the home double header when the teams square off again tonight at 7:00 at the Coliseum.

The UNBC basketball teams kicked off their final home weekend in style. The Lady Timberwolves improved to 11-0 on the season with an 84-77 win over Capliano. Sarah Robin led the way with 19 points. The UNBC men's team got some revenge on the Blues who handed them one of their two losses on the year. The Timberwolves prevailed 91-85. Sam Rapheal had 26 points. The men sit at 9-2. This evening they will play their final games at the Northern Sports Centre when they host Quest. Women at 6:00 and men at 8:00.

A disapointing weekend for the Prince George Cougars, as they started out by facing the worst team in the WHL, and ended up in that position themselves.The Cougars lost both of their games against the Everett Silvertips, 5-2 on Friday and 4-3 on Saturday. The Cats get ready for back-to-back games in Victoria tomorrow and Wednesday night , where they will continue to battle for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Spruce Kings continue to have their way with the three time defending league champion Vernon Vipers. The Kings picked up their third consecutive win over the snakes winning 7-2 on home ice. Prince George moves six points ahead of Vernon and can make it eight when the teams meet again Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Coliseum.
