The UNBC men's basketball team survived a big scare in its first game at the Canadian College basketball championship in Calgary. The number one Timberwolves came out flat trailing by as much as 16 against number eight Fanshawe College. UNBC went into the final quarter down 57-46. Finally with 1:44 left in the game Jose Arajuo nailed a three pointer to give the T-Wolves its first lead since the opening two points. UNBC then managed to hang on for a 76-71 win. Inderbir Gil led the way offensively with 22 points. Arajuo and Francis Rowe added 16 points. UNBC advances to the semi final tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. against the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics.
